Previously you could generate an app specific password to use, but since Basic Auth has been deprecated, this is no longer possible. Not for iPhone. Your option is to use the Outlook app. Got to settings--- type the exchange email -- then select sync contacts and sync calendars. From there make sure you use Google contacts and Google calendars and set them to your default app. The standard contacts and calendars app that come with the phone have sync issues with the Outlook app. I currently set this for all my android users.
